things have been said about auto racing over the years, but that it’s safe
isn’t one of them. No matter how skilled a driver is, no amount of training can
totally take the risk out of pushing powerful racing machines to their limits.
Formula One tire manufacturer, Pirelli, is hoping to “give race fans the spectacle
they deserve,” in Barcelona, by enabling teams to get in some extra practice

racing is by no means the end-all-be-all of racing around the world.
Unfortunately, even race cars with far less power than those featured in
NASCAR can be a dangerous undertaking.
After having some harsh penalties levied on them by NASCAR’s disciplinary body, Penske racing was able to feel some optimism after the suspensions of a number of their crew members were reduced as a result of an appeal.
In the world of high performance ignition systems, it can become quite difficult trying to decide which ignition box to go with. This topic is one which has been bantered around the sport and has
proven a lightning rod of controversy for those who suggest a change of
tradition would be best for the parties involved. With a sportsman only
venue, sportsman racers could have their own playground where
competition is tailored to their needs and likely not to include racing
on a cold track at sunrise or well after sundown, getting canceled due
to time constraints or getting mired in muddy pits because there’s
nowhere else to park.
Ever since the 2001 Daytona 500, when we witnessed the tragic death of
legendary Dale Earnhardt, Sr. from a basilar skull fracture, head and
neck restraint (HNR) systems have been commonplace in racing. Sure they
were around before, but the loss of one of NASCAR’s all-time greats
forced many sanctioning bodies to mandate the HANS (Head and Neck
Support) device rule.

Unless rotary valves are perfected, poppet valves will continue to be

IHRA’s Division 1 has always been known as the place where champions race. While
other divisions boast bigger fields and claim more competitiveness,

4.032-second trip down a 1,000-foot concrete and asphalt straightaway.
Electric water pumps are nothing new in the world of high-performance
and even street-going engines. Through the years, though, they have
evolved from something only seen on high-end, high output cars, and made
their way into street/strip cars and other applications. They are often
dismissed as a part used in dedicated race cars, when in reality, might

numerous vehicle types, all chasing the checkered flag. From stock cars to
trucks, amateur to professional, NASCAR drivers push themselves and their
vehicles to the limit. While stereotypes of NASCAR fans are common, it’s no

drivers share a love for speed, power, and the excitement that only hundreds
